The largest gathering in the cruise industry – Seatrade Cruise Global, the international cruise conference that takes place every year in Miami, US – is soon upon us. With over 700 exhibiting companies from 113 countries and about 11,000 visitors from all over the world, Seatrade Cruise Global, taking place this year between April 8-11, is the most important event in the cruise industry calendar.
The two leading clean-tech companies from Scandinavia, Scanship and Climeon, have teamed up to present their environmental solutions for the cruise industry to more than 11,000 visitors at this year’s Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami.
We asked Carl Berglund, Head of Maritime at Climeon, and Henrik Badin, CEO at Scanship, why:
“We are two world leading clean-tech companies with the same aspiration to help the maritime industry move towards a more sustainable future.” says Carl Berglund and continues “It’s not a partnership but rather a joint commitment to support a greater cause. Two voices will always be stronger than one and we want to show the industry that this type of collaboration and joint effort is, what we believe, required to reach the long-term Maritime commitment, connected to the IMO 2050 target of reducing 50% of the CO2 emissions.”
”Both our companies provide technology to improve the environmental performance of ship operations. With our technologies, we will prevent pollution to sea and make significantly contribution to the cruise industry target of reducing CO2 emissions. Our combined solutions will reduce CO2 through waste heat recovery, waste to energy and carbon capture, a strong and complemental offering to the maritime world” says Henrik Badin.
